What is going on in your life today? I’m sure that if you are in this world, just as I am, that there is something that might be troubling you. Maybe you are having one terrific day- and I am hoping that you are. We have many, many days like that- free of problems and worries- and those are so wonderful! Not to be a pessimist, but there are days when things are flying at us right and left. There are also days that we might call ‘get thru’ days- Days when all seems well on the outside, but inside our hearts are aching- Our minds are full of distrust.
Should every day be a day that we just stumble through? Should we not have good days even when all around us things are not going so well? Didn't Christ Himself tell us that He came to give us the abundant life?
I guess that we will never have perfect days until we reach Heaven’s Gates. The Bible assures us that we have someone who will never leave us or forsake us. Jesus Christ. Do we believe that?
When the phone rings with troubling news of some sort, do we believe Jesus Christ is with us?
When our health fails, do we believe that Jesus Christ is with us? When people disappoint us, do we believe that Jesus Christ is with us? When those we love do not do the things that we hope they will, do we believe that Jesus Christ is with us? Is every day of life a struggle?
If we believe that Jesus Christ is with us, and that He will never leave or forsake us, then what do we believe He can do anyway?
We believe that He is the Son of God. We believe that He took on every sin that we could ever commit, and He defeated the devil because He was obedient unto
death on that cross. We believe that He holds the keys to Heaven and Hell. We may even believe that He sits at His Father’s right hand and is ever interceeding for his people. Maybe we have a head knowledge of all this stuff because we have been told about this and a lot more from a lot of other people that believe in Jesus.
I think the problem doesn’t lie with our heads- but, our hearts. If we, God’s children have seen His mercy given to us over and over, why then can we not believe that God will have mercy on others? If we have witnessed God’s love for us so many times when we have been hurting, why, oh why can we not believe that God never runs out of love for us. He never runs out of patience. He never runs out of mercy. Why do we limit the Lord above? What we believe about Jesus and the price He paid for our freedom....His victory over sin by the blood that He shed,
why do we at times not receive this in our hearts? I ask this of you, because so many times, I let the enemy get hold of me and I forget all this ‘stuff’ that I have learned about my Lord. The battle rages without and within, and I run not to the waiting and living arms of the Lord, but to my own conclusions. My self pity. My fears. Worries. Doubts.
We have to get this ‘stuff’ rooted into our beings, that when the Devil starts slinging his ‘stuff’ at us, we can stand with our Lord Jesus and declare unto him- ‘get lost!’...I am a child of the risen Christ ! I have the mind of Jesus Christ! Old things have passed away- all things have become new! I am a new creation! I have the Lord on my side! You devil, are a liar. I refuse to receive your lies, and in Jesus’s Name, I refuse to listen to you!
We are God’s children. We are children of the Most High! Our creator-forHeaven’s sake, why are we allowing the devil to defeat us?
My mom, God bless her, told me, "This is a school. Tests come and how are you going to handle them? This is not your home. You are in this world, but you are not of it. You must forgive to be forgiven. You must seek God’s will for your life and live for Him. He will never leave you or forsake you".
Mom was right! I have been wrong many, many times. I have let my emotions ‘rule the day’ only to get on my knees and ask God to forgive me. I have let fear, envy, pride, hate, take hold of me and I have suffered needless consequences to this. I have grown through the years- physically and spiritually, and thank God, that I have. I’ve learned a TON about forgiveness- it wasn’t always easy, but, one thing I know, that if I had not had the forgiveness and love from others,
and their prayers, I do not know where I might have been in this life. I so thank God for Jesus’s presence with me- for His love for me- for my Father in Heaven’s. I thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit that keeps me from letting my emotional response get the best of me. I mess up - still do, but, the times of understanding who and what is causing this problem, and WHO I need to go to for help, are getting shorter. I am so thankful for that. Victory will come, it will!
God says "all things work together for good for those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose" We have to not just have a ‘head’ knowledge, but a ‘heart’ knowledge.
What God has done for us, He will do for others, for He is no respecter of persons. We just have to do our part. We have to be His vessels, and willing to ‘die to self’. After all, didn't He die for you? For us all? Forgive. Love. Trust your Savior.God will heal the hurt. God will take over and make it right. Time and time again- why? because He is God!
He knows all about our problems - Nothing is a surprise to Him.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, thy and thy house shall be saved. We are called to ‘believe’.
Hope your day is going better- I hope that you will find your hope in the living, risen Jesus Christ, that loves you with all His heart and that you will realize He is working all things for good for you as you seek Him in all your ways. Call upon Him, for He will answer. He will help you and until victory comes, give you the peace that passes all understanding.
"Father- how many times do we let the devil’s lies and schemes keep us down? How many times do we gravitate towards self- self pity? Self condemnation? How many times do we walk in needless pain because we have not heard your voice? We have not done your will or sought
your way? Father, the victory is so close- and I know so many times in my own life, when it looked the blackest, it was at that point, that full victory was around the corner. Help us your children to not just ‘hang on’, but to live in peace- the perfect peace that only you can give. Help us to praise your name on high, and not listen to the voices that would lead us on the wrong path.
Oh Lord, you are worthy! You! Thank you for a beautiful day, trusting in your righteousness- in your power- in your defeat of the one who tries to keep us from understanding your plans for us-
the plans for good- not evil- to give us a future and a hope! May our hope be in YOU! May each of us spend time with you today Lord, and may you speak to us and give us hope and rest. May we allow you the privilege of working out the good in every situation that YOU may receive the glory. Thank you Lord. In Jesus’s Name. Amen
Isaiah 49:15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!"
Isaiah 48:17"This is what the Lord says, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord
your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river- your righteousness like the waves of the sea"
Isaiah 41: 10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will
strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ....I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
