GLORY - WHAT KIND ARE WE SEEKING?
There has been a lot going on in my home the last two months. They call it revitalizing. A lot of sawing, hammering, banging and clanging. People coming in and out. Voices interrupting my usually quiet days. The yard outside is another story. Azalea limbs broken off. Nails, lumber, garden statues- everything scattered. A real mess.
All the old siding has been ripped off and now replaced with new. Old windows torn out and new ones are now in place. So, the end result is good. A beautiful look to our home, and hopefully, the electric bill will be lowered ! My hubby and I have been trying to keep up with it all- cleaning out the flower beds and planting new spring flowers. Eventually, things will return to norm. I have had the privilege at this older age, of being able to have quiet time with the Lord in the mornings. So, as no one is here at the moment, I take this opportunity.
'Glory' - I was reading about this in the book of 2nd Corinthians 3:7 this morning.
Paul is comparing the old covenant with the new, and talking about Moses’s experience with
God in receiving the ten commandments.
"Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, (the ten commandments) how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
Stay with me here-
"Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at him while God’s Holy radiance was fading away."
What glory is everlasting? What glory will not fade away?
My azalea bushes that were oh so glorious got inadvertently trampled. Ladders having to be put
in flower beds will do that. We are going to have to cut them all back. They will do fine- in time.
I was reading about a famous golf player this morning. I think you might know who I am referring to. Not judging him. I think he needs a lot of prayer. Sin got the best of him and the glory that surrounded him wherever he went has certainly fled away. I pray that he can find
that GLORY that last forever.
The Bible says that the Lord is greater in us than he who is in this world. That would mean that
Jesus Christ is greater in us than the devil. Jesus Christ is all glorious. We can receive and will receive this glory if we accept and live for our Lord and Savior. Not that our faces are going to glow like Moses after his visit with the Lord on that mountain. I do think that we can have a glow or radiance of sorts. How do we keep it?
Simple. Just love the Lord and allow the Lord to show his love through us.
I tell you, some days I do not seem to possess that special glory. I look at this drawn face and wonder where is the joy of the Lord? Why would anyone want to possess what you have?
Moses need a veil over his face after he came down from that mountain. He didn’t want people
to see that glory fading.
God gave us a better covenant. A sure and lasting one. Jesus shed His blood on a cross to give
us everlasting victory. When we accept Him as our Savior, He enters in to this being of ours
and writes His name on our hearts. So, all this glory that shines from us in at times, is nothing
short of a miracle, because it is HIS GLORY coming thru!
"And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into HIS
likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."!!
So, think of it...as we grow more in our relationship with Christ, we are being changed into
His likeness- and receive more glory. Wow!
I hope that you have a glorious day! The kind of glory that is everlasting. It is a day by day thing.
Remember who you are in Jesus Christ and what He is doing in your life. He will complete this
work He has started in us. Praise God!
"Dear Father in Heaven,
I’m so glad to have read these scriptures this morning. They have helped me to not be so
discouraged when my glory from you diminishes greatly. Many times Lord, I feel disappointed
with myself that I should have acted or reacted in a entirely different matter. I’m going to try
not and beat myself up about that, because of the fact I am human...and also, that this is your
working out things in my life for my growth. You are perfecting this lump of clay that sometimes balks at what you sometimes are asking of me.
I can’t even imagine how glorious you and Jesus are- and the Holy Spirit- nor can I truly
envision Heaven and all your mighty angels and ministering spirits. I have had many mountain
top experiences, but none to compare with Moses, nor have I given my all to you as Moses did.
So to think that because of your Son Jesus Christ going through all that he did on that cross-
I can receive some of your radiance- your glory - I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness.
Thank you Lord. I am indeed a ‘work in progress’. Help me and others that love you realize
this Lord, please. In Jesus’s Name. Amen"
Hebrews 8 tells us of the new covenant. The Lord will put his laws in our minds and write them on our hearts and we will be HIS people. Thanks be to God!

Glory Glory Hallelujah,Our God is marching on.When by His grace I shall look on His face, that will be glory...be glory for me. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord, He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored....etc. I have a hard time even thinking of how glorious it is...but you helped.
