LEAD ME IN THE WAY I SHOULD GO...
Lord, please show me what you want from me today. You be the guide. You know the road ahead. You know the pitfalls, dangers, traps. You know the good and the bad that lies before me.

2011- Can’t believe it is already this year. I remember when it turned 2,000. None of us could
imagine it coming without thinking something ‘big’ would happen on that date. I guess some ‘big’ events took place in a lot of lives, but not mine. We use our imaginations trying to decide what our lives might be like in the years ahead of us. I think sometimes, our imaginations get the best of us. Sometimes, we think the ‘grass is surely greener on the other side of the fence’. If only I can get to another point..another place..another whatever. Surely, this is the answer to my life.

I listen to a lot of Christian people telling us a lot of ways to live. I think Godly advice is the
very best kind of advice. I think this is a good thing, and certainly has helped me, but I think listening for that still small voice- or ‘big’ - however it comes, is truly what we need. Our society lives in this idea of instant fixes to problems. No amount of waiting- working hard for things to come our way- we need to ‘poof’ it in to place.
God gives us so much wisdom - if only we take it. All we have to do is ask!
One thing I know the Bible says, "out of your mouth comes life or death". We are told by many a Christian to speak ‘life’ words! I believe in that, but there’s new advice coming our way on this subject, " When you wake up in the morning..do not give in to depression, guilt, gloom- instead, speak words of LIFE to yourself! Learn to expect from God! "I am a good person!" "I will not be gloomy today!"
The Lord doesn’t want us depressed, nor does He want us to speak unfruitful words over ourselves or others.
I do not believe the Bible lies. In the book of James, it says that our tongue is like a rudder.
It is full of all sorts of evil, and certainly, the devil wants us to not just be defeated, but stay
in that awful condition. We need to put hope in God- we should hope in Him! We also need to learn to live in expectation from our Heavenly Father. After all, we are His children!
Our problems sometimes lie with our fear of getting real with God. Why in the world do we run from Him at times, when He is truly the only one who can deliver us out of dire circumstances and put and keep us on the right path?
The Lord tells us that when we sin, it leads to death. I believe that we have to believe on that
cross enough and the Power of Jesus Christ- His blood shed for us- to know that He wants us
to live in a state of 'receiving' from Him. We have to realize that living in sin, never trying to
recognize there is sin in our lives, is not going to please God, and certainly, not bring us into
that place we long to be. No amount of wonderful words spoken will lift that guilt off of us.
The place we need to be of course, is humbling ourselves before our Lord. He sees and knows everything about us. He sent His Son to take on the sins of the world.
The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive them and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." This is just one of His faithful promises to us. Jesus Christ came to set us free. Confession is certainly good for the soul.
We have to believe that the Lord above has a plan for our lives that is for good, and not for evil,
to give us a future and a hope! Our hope is in Christ. The Lord tells us in Psalms that He will direct our steps and lead us on the right path. Once we realize that we belong to our Lord and that He knows all about our struggles and is waiting with open arms to help us in every situation, then I think, we receive this knowledge of His grace and mercy working for us. Each and every time He will direct our path- if only, we do not become as a horse or mule which has no understanding- We must come to God. Coming to Him with a clean heart is the best way.
Running to what we think are ‘greener pastures’ is the wrong way! All the advice we get in this world will not help us if it is not Bible based. God has a purpose and plan for each of us in this world, and when we submit to Him and ask for His will in our lives, we will see it unfold.
Looking ahead to five, ten or twenty years might not be the answer. None of us truly know how long we have on this planet earth. We live and breathe by the grace of God.
Yes, He is our loving Father. Just remember that we are His creation. We are His children.
He knows how to protect us in every situation. Jesus Christ defeated the devil. He came to bring us life and more abundantly.
So, before you ‘run’...walk. Walk into Jesus’s arms of faith and hope. Walk in to that certain place where you can meet with your Lord and ask Him to direct your steps. Ask Him to lead
you by His Holy Spirit...not your emotions. To me, that is the best advice and best way.
"Lord, help me today..to listen for that still small voice. I want to be led of you- not my emotions, for I have learned your advice is the best. You do bring people into our lives to help and guide us- you certainly have mine. Thank you. May we seek the advice of those who pray and seek your wisdom. The scriptures are true. Forgive us all - forgive me- when we get
caught up in our own selfishness. Sometimes forging ahead because it feels good.
Your people perish for a lack of knowledge. May we do as scripture says, "Trust in the Lord
with all your heart, lean NOT unto your own understanding...In ALL your ways, acknowledge God, and HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS!’...Please help me always to seek your will.
Help us all Lord above. In Jesus’s precious name. Amen."
